Take Out Your Winter Frustrations With Ice Bumper Cars

Bumper cars are a staple of summer fairs and carnivals. In the nineties, many also added nausea-inducing bumper boats. Now, the Alex and Ani City Center in Providence brings you the latest addition to the bumper-vehicle family - ice bumper cars!

The colorful orbs glide across the gleaming ice of the Providence Rink, careening into one another before twirling away for another impact.

Don't worry skaters! The cars only take up one third of the rink, so there is still plenty of room to practice your moves!

Each ride lasts 20 minutes and costs $12 per person. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m.

The rink operates no matter how low the mercury drops, but had to close earlier this week when temperatures spiked into the 70s.

The bumper cars were a new addition to the Alex and Ani City Center rink this winter, making their debut just before Christmas 2017.

Providence is one of just three cities in the country to receive the brand new cars this year and since they have wheels, they will continue to operate year round.

Spend an unseasonably warm afternoon with the kids at the Providence Rink this February vacation, or enjoy an adults-only bumper session during the rink's late night hours!
