New England Patriots training camp to start July 28

It’s OK Patriots fans, you can wake up from that hibernation pretty soon.

In about less than a week, the New England Patriots will be taking the field in Foxborough. Yes. July 28 marks the start of NFL training camp. And in about a month and a half, the actual NFL season will start.

Looking at the open practice schedule, July 28-July 31 have been announced thus far. On those four days there will be a morning practice from 9:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. open to the public. And the Patriots Fan Zone, whatever that may be, will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

On August 1, whilst nothing is planned in terms of  public practices yet, the Fan Zone will be open from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. — and there is a public Patriots Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5:00 p.m.. Who is it for, you might ask? Kevin Faulk. Why, you might ask? Because, you, the fan, voted for him. And he is deserving of it given his longevity with the team.

Don’t like it and didn’t vote? That’s cool. That’s like when I will complain about the president next year — regardless of who it is — and blame everyone who voted for said person because I don’t vote. Except Faulk is a deserving Patriots Hall of Famer, so not really like it at all.

It is worth noting that the Patriots will have two joint practices this year: one with the New Orleans Saints on August 9-10 and some more on August 15-16 with the Chicago Bears. The times of those are still to be determined.

For safety concerns, there’s some restrictions as to what people can bring with them to both Gillette Stadium and the training camp facility nearby. Read it closely if you choose to attend. And yes, hoverboards did make the list this year.
