5 Boston Restaurants With Extra Fun & Flare For The Perfect Date Night

Whether it’s your first date or your 50th wedding anniversary, sometimes the conversation can get stale when you’re just staring at each other across a table. Wouldn’t it ease the tension a little if the dinner part of the date and the entertainment part could be combined into one?

These Boston restaurants offer plenty of opportunities to play with your food and keep the chatter rolling as you fish for your own seafood, eat your dessert for dinner and assemble your own sushi meal.

Fire + Ice, 50 Church Street, Cambridge

Offering a selection of Italian, Asian, American and Latin flavors to choose from, Fire + Ice is different from anything you’ve ever experienced before. Each guest can design his or her very own meal from a huge selection of meats, veggies, starches, herbs, spices and sauces. Once you choose your ingredients, you deliver them to your chef who grills them to perfection right before your eyes! Perfect for picky eaters and adventure seekers alike so everyone gets exactly what they want!

From the savory cheese appetizer down to the decadent chocolate desserts, The Melting Pot is the ultimate fondue experience. Together, you and your loved one choose your favorite flavors, then simmer them right on your personal tabletop stove. Dip everything from bread, meat and veggies, to marshmallows, brownies, cheesecake and fruit! It’s a deliciously fun way to get creative together!

Max Brenner, 745 Boylston Street, Boston

This restaurant is a chocoholic’s dream come true! Chef Max Brenner has created an entire menu around the rich goodness of cocoa. From superior milkshakes to pastries, chocolate pizzas, crepes and waffles, it’s impossible not to overdose on creamy goodness. They do have a regular dinner menu if you’re into that sort of thing, but I recommend having double dessert instead! Don’t forget to visit the candy shop for some incredible treats to go.

East Ocean City, 27 Beach Street, Boston

Every day more than 600 pounds of fresh live seafood is delivered to East Ocean City’s Chinatown kitchen. They offer the largest fresh seafood tank in Boston and you get to choose exactly which fish you want to eat. It’s a visually stunning and flavorful event for seafood lovers. They do offer other options for those who aren’t fish fans, but vegans and sensitive animal lovers should steer clear!

Wasabi, Natick Mall, Natick

Wasabi offers an interesting twist on the typical sushi bar concept. Instead of watching the chef’s prepare your meal to order, a conveyor belt runs through loaded with every roll, sashimi and tempura creation you could ever dream up. They also offer items with a Latin American flare in addition to the traditional Japanese dishes. Choose as much or as little as you like, it’s the perfect opportunity to break out of your box and try something new.
