It’s that time of year again. The kids are heading back to school, and soon it will be autumn in New England. While the rest of the world looks forward to pumpkin spice everything, we are holding out for apple cider season!
Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, Connecticut has added a new item to their menu of autumn flavored goodies.They are now serving refreshing apple cider slushies to bridge the gap between summer and fall.
But this new icy treat is just the latest reason to flock to Lyman Farm. The 275-year old business is a fixture in the community, and is known as a staple for fresh produce and goodies.
The 1,100-acre property is covered with fruit-bearing bushes and trees. During summer and fall, visitors flock to the fields to harvest their own bounty from berries to apples.
The family-friendly farm always has something special going on for the kids. Right now, you can get lost in their sunflower maze with over two miles of twisting turning paths!
After time spent in the fields, you'll want to make your way to the Apple Barrel Market. It's filled to the rafters with fresh produce, pies, pastries, and much more. There's a little something for everyone!
Of course, you'll want to indulge in those apple cider donuts that we New Englanders go crazy for. Handmade right on the premises, there's nothing quite like them.
Don't forget that pumpkin picking season will be here soon. Lyman Orchards will have pumpkin patches, a corn maze, and those fantastic apple cider slushies!
