Visit An Enchanted Butterfly Forest In Western Massachusetts

Way out in the foothills of western Massachusetts lies a hidden oasis of tropical beauty.

Magic Wings Butterly Conservatory & Gardens is an 8,000-square-foot sanctuary and home to nearly 4,000 native and tropical butterflies.

Open 363 days a year (every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas), it offers a warm, indoor haven from even the chilliest New England winter.

The multiple varieties of butterflies have free range of the entire conservatory. You may find them resting on a tropical plant or soaring high above your head.

You may also catch a glimpse of some of the birds, reptiles and fish that call the conservatory home.

The space features an indoor pond and waterfall, as well as a one-acre outdoor garden where native plants and trees attract local wild butterflies in the spring and summer.

After you peruse the entire property, relax and enjoy lunch or a quick snack at the Magic Wings Food Court. They serve sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, hotdogs, coffee, baked goods, ice cream, and more!

The gift shop features lovely butterfly themed gifts including handmade butterfly domes by curator Fred Gagnon. Each unique piece is created from naturally expired butterflies.

You can also purchase plants and accessories to help you create a wild butterfly garden in your own backyard!

Admission is $16 for adults and $10 for children under 18. Kids under three are admitted free, and senior discounts are available.

Enjoy a lovely spring day learning all about conservation at Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens!
