This Providence Restaurant Is A Delightful Mix Of Dorky & Delicious

From their massive display of PEZ dispensers to their Star Wars-themed omelettes, Julian's is a little bit kooky and a whole lot of fun!

Located in the historic Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence, Julian's is the brainchild of native Rhode Island chef, Julian Forgue IV.

What began as a small pet project in 1994 slowly but surely grew into a hub of food and art specializing in fresh, scratch-made brunch and dinner dishes, craft cocktails and beers, and housemade desserts.

Dinner options consist of huge, decadent portions of meat and seafood plus an excellent selection of vegan fare. Try the braised shortrib, or go cruelty-free with a vegan "steak and cheese" wrap with seitan, onions, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, and soy cheese in a flour tortilla.

Pair your meal with one of Julian's wide selection of local and imported craft beers on tap or indulge in a creative, specialty cocktail from their ever-changing drink menu.

Brunch is where Julian's really shines. Bloody Marys infused with a surprisingly delicious splash of pineapple juice are worth the long weekend wait.

If Bloody Marys aren't your thing, get your buzz on with a spiked iced coffee made from espresso liqueur and rum instead.

Julian's serves their own scratch-made granola and fresh ketchup as well as unique favorites like scrambled egg pizza (with plum tomatoes, mild cheddar, and your choice of avocado, Applewood smoked bacon, or smoked salmon, on naan); Vegan chocolate banana pancakes with coconut whipped cream; five different breakfast hashes; and a whopping seven Benedicts - including a Vegan option.

If omelettes are more your speed, be sure to try the Sith Lord or the Jedi Mind Trick!

Almost as eclectic as Julian's extensive menu is the whimsical decor.

The restrooms feature massive displays of vintage Star Wars figures, plus more than 100 PEZ dispensers - among other quirky touches.

The next time you visit providence, check out Julian's - you won't be disappointed!
