This Indoor/Outdoor Seaside Art Gallery Is Fun, Fascinating & Free

In 2009, the historic 14-acre Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina was transformed into an open-air space for local and international artists to share their work.

Open year-round and free-of-charge, the HarborArts Shipyard Gallery hosts thousands of visitors each year.

The shipyard once built some of the world’s fastest clipper ships and now serves as a hub for art enthusiasts and those hoping to take in stunning views of the harbor and Boston skyline.

The industrial warehouse space provides the perfect backdrop for displaying smaller pieces...

While the gorgeous outdoor dock space showcases an ever-rotating series of sculptures from artists around the world.

Due to the harsh elements, most works are displayed temporarily, with natural weathering adding to each piece's beauty.

In addition to the gallery, the HarborArts crew hosts an annual festival that saw more than 5,000 visitors this year.

The gallery is open to the public from 7 AM to 7 PM and located at 256 Marginal Street, East Boston.
