Winter in New England can feel long, cold, and never-ending — but for hundreds of riders, it’s also the season to show up for something bigger. The PMC Winter Cycle is an indoor cycling event that brings together people from all different fitness levels to raise critical funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund.
Now in its 11th year, the PMC Winter Cycle continues to grow into one of Boston’s most inspiring winter traditions — combining high-energy spin sessions, community spirit, and a mission that matters.
What is the PMC Winter Cycle?
The PMC Winter Cycle is part of the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), a fundraising powerhouse that supports Dana-Farber’s life-saving cancer research and patient care. Riders take on the challenge indoors while still getting the full event-day energy of a major athletic fundraiser.
One of the coolest parts? The event takes place inside Fenway Park, with riders spinning in the 521 Overlook while overlooking the iconic field.
Event Highlights
Here’s what makes Winter Cycle such a standout experience:
-
🚴 Up to six 45-minute indoor cycling sessions
-
🎧 Sessions led by top Boston-area cycling instructors
-
🏟️ Held at Fenway Park (yes, the real Fenway!)
-
💛 A high-energy atmosphere filled with riders, teams, and supporters
-
🎉 A Rider Village where participants can relax, connect, and recharge between rides
Whether you’re riding one session or taking on multiple, every spin contributes to the larger goal: funding the fight against cancer.
Why It Matters
Winter Cycle isn’t just a workout — it’s a mission. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the PMC. That means your fundraising effort supports real impact, including:
-
Breakthrough cancer research
-
Patient treatment and care
-
Support for families facing cancer
-
Continued progress toward better outcomes and cures
Since its start in 1980, the Pan-Mass Challenge has raised over $1.12 billion for Dana-Farber, making it the Institute’s largest single contributor and one of the most successful athletic fundraising events in the country.
Who Can Join?
The best part about PMC Winter Cycle is that you don’t need to be a pro cyclist to participate. Riders of all levels are welcome, and there are multiple ways to get involved:
-
Join as an individual rider
-
Ride with a team
-
Fundraise with friends and family supporting your goal
-
Volunteer and help keep the event running
- Participants commit to meeting a fundraising minimum, and the event provides tools and resources to help riders reach their goals.
More Than a Ride
What really makes Winter Cycle special is the community behind it. Many riders participate for personal reasons — honoring loved ones, celebrating survivorship, or supporting someone currently fighting cancer. That shared purpose turns every ride into something unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to kick off the year, challenge yourself, and support a cause that truly matters, the PMC Winter Cycle is the perfect event to be part of.
Spin for strength. Ride for hope. Cycle for a cure.
