Boston's Ski-Themed Pop-Up Bar Is Back For Another Season

Last year, the Publico Street Bistro & Garden featured a ski-themed pop-up bar beneath their brand new retractable roof. The Lodge at Publico was such a success, the restaurant decided to bring it back for a second year.
Beginning Friday, December 14, Publico's atrium will transform into an après ski-inspired lodge complete with artificial snow, hot specialty drinks, flannel blankets, fire pits, and a ski lift chair for photo ops.
The decor is designed to provide all the warmth and coziness of a fireside chalet. Your gang can sprawl amid the fluffy pillows and admire the decorative sleds and faux moose and deer heads that adorn the walls.
Last year's "Shot-Skis" will once again delight up to four drinkers at a time with house-made shots served in a custom ski.
Other beverages will likely include last season's favorites such as hot buttered rum and spiked hot chocolate with Grey Goose and Aztec chocolate bitters. There may even be some new cocktails to sample.
No word yet on the menu, but let's hope last year's lodge-inspired offerings return once again. The previous winter's options included a grilled Vermont “shreddar” cheese sandwich served with tomato soup, Triple Diamond Slope Sliders, and White Heat Fried Mac & Cheese.
The Lodge at Publico is open weekends from Friday, Dec. 14 through March 31, 2019. Friday hours begin at 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday the pop-up will open at 11 a.m.
Publico is located at 11 Dorchester Street, Boston.
