New England's Mountain Resorts Offer The Perfect Summer Escape

It doesn't get much more socially distant than your very own chairlift soaring above the rolling mountains! New England resorts with summer attractions may very well be the perfect summer escape this year.

in New Hampshire and Vermont, ski resorts such as Mount Snow, Attitash and Wildcat are ready and willing to welcome summer adventure seekers.

There is plenty of natural beauty to enjoy including hiking trails, birdwatching opportunities, and additional outdoor seating for picnics.

Okemo Ski Resort in Vermont is currently up and running. Summer guests can enjoy scenic chairlift rides, hiking, an 18-hole golf course, disc golf on the mountain top and their exciting Mountain Coaster.

They are currently enforcing social distancing and enforcing a 15-minute break between tee times in addition to cleaning and sanitizing protocols.

At Mount Snow, the Bluebird lift is spinning and the golf club is ready to play.

Stowe's famous gondola sky ride begins carrying guests once again on July 18 as well as the Toll Road, ride up Mount Mansfield.

Skip the waterslides and head to Attitash for a ride down the Alpine Slide or an open-air gondola ride. They are also offering additional outdoor dining space and a take-out menu for picnickers.

Wildcat will be a bit late to the party. Their chairlift opens August 1, but hikers are welcome anytime.

Hotels are open in the mountain regions as well, with restrictions, of course. Massachusetts visitors can now skip quarantine when visiting Vermont and New Hampshire so you can even plan a simple day-rip.

Many are hoping the limited access to these ski resorts means we can expect a normal - or "new" normal - ski season to come.
