Live Music Is Back On Cape Cod!

Live Music Is Back On Cape Cod!

Earlier this summer, a few venues opened up temporary drive-in theaters in an effort to provide a bit of out-of-home entertainment for Massachusetts' restless quarantiners.

Garth Brooks even gave a live concert broadcast at three of these drive-ins. Now, starting Saturday, August 1, live music will return to Cape Cod with a rock concert by the Boston-based band, Ripe.

“Music is finally back! We are proud to bring live concerts to Massachusetts in a safe and fun way,” said Adam Epstein, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Innovation Arts & Entertainment. “This show is only the beginning. We will have live music, sports, comedy and a few other surprises all summer long."

The Ripe show will take place at the Yarmouth Drive-in, and will mark the first major live performance in the state since the lockdown went into effect in March.

The Yarmouth Drive-in is a lovely venue overlooking the water. The lot can hold more than 450 cars, where fans can safely social distance from one another. It features three massive high-definition LED screens, each more than 40-feet wide, and a generous stage.

Tickets are currently on sale at yarmouthdrivein.com and cover one car with up to four guests. You also have the option to add additional passengers for an up charge.

Ripe's music is described as a blend of rock, funk, R&B, jazz, and pop, "creating a unique sound that feeds off the crowd’s energy."

The band came together in 2011 while students at the Berklee College of Music. They now have seven million listeners and more than 40 million streams, and have performed at Bonnaroo and the Firefly Festival.

This is expected to be the first live show of the summer with more to come if it is a success. All guests are asked to join the Cape Club at yarmouthdrivein.com for the latest news about upcoming attractions, and first access to tickets.

Tickets range from $125 to $185 depending on which row guests want to park in. Gates open at 8PM and the show starts promptly at 9:00PM.
