Cambridge Cafe Hosts An Annual Anti-Valentine's Day Celebration

If you are going to be single this Valentine's Day, there's no need to stay at home and sulk. Area Four's Cambridge location hosts an annual Misery Loves Company event perfect for those who'd like to snap Cupid's bow over their knee.
The restaurant's social media pages have yet to post the details of this year's event, but if past celebrations are any indication, it will be a delightfully miserable time!
Themed crafted cocktails, special "hateful" menu items and plenty of anti-love music and movies (think Love Stinks by the J. Geils Band and Jason Segel's downward romantic spiral in Forgetting Sarah Marshall) will be on tap.
Past menu choices have included "angry, spicy dishes" like the Arrabbiata Pizza; Garlic Knots with tomato, sausage, pepperoni, salami, bacon, mozzarella, fontina, roasted garlic and pickled pepper relish; and “slapped” pork cheeks.
Best of all? Area Four gives out custom candy hearts at checkout for guests of their "Hater's Valentine's Day." Instead of cutesy expressions of adoration, these not-so-sweethearts feature poop emojis and snarky comments like "Pizza is my Valentine."
While the Cambridge location caters to singles, Area Four wisely hosts a seperate event for lovers at their South End spot. Past celebrations have featured flowery custom cocktails and prix fixe menus complete with a shareable app, small pizza, entrée and dessert.
