FUNDRAISER: The Boston Marathon & Cancer Research

UPDATE 3/30/17: Bryon is running like a mad man and is just about ready for the marathon! Yesterday he ran 16 miles. He said he could’ve run more, but he had to go home and take care of his newborn. What a champ. Watch the video below to see how he’s doing!

Come support our very own employee, Bryon Patten as he runs the 2017 Boston Marathon this April. Bryon is trying to raise $7k for cancer research, and we have a few ways you can show your support and kick cancer to the curb.

Running the Boston Marathon has been a lifelong dream of his, but life just gets in the way sometimes. Then Bryon got the call that a leading cancer research facility had an open spot on their roster, and he just jumped at the chance, even though the big race was only a little over a month away. 40 days to train? Yes, that’s crazy, but if there’s anyone who can do it it’s Bryon.

Everyone has a reason why there are running, and Bryon has decided to run for his Grandmother Ellie who passed away in 2001 and Laurie Farrell who lost her battle this past December.

Here at Chowdaheadz we’re always looking for fun ways to give back. When we heard Bryon was running the marathon, we knew it was something we had to help him achieve. Bryon designed a marathon-inspired t-shirt, and we will be donating 100% of the proceeds from the shirt to his fundraiser for cancer research.

“No Rest for the Wicked Fast” has a double meaning. First, Bryon only has 40 days to train for a 26.2 mile race and reach his fundraising goal. Second, cancer doesn’t rest so neither will we! Please help him “Run Fastah” to beat cancer!

Together we’re heading toward the ultimate finish line: A world without cancer.
