Clam Doughnuts Are On The Menu At New Freedom Trail Restaurant

The historic Freedom Trail's brand new restaurant can best be described as eclectic and quirky with a hint of rebellion.

Sons of Boston - or S.O.B. as they proudly display on their marketing materials and throughout the restaurant - serves traditional American fare like hamburgers, lobster rolls, clam chowder and wings.

But they also feature significantly beefed-up favorites like short rib sliders, buffalo chicken dip, and an extensive menu of build-your-own Mac n' Cheese options.

Choose from cheese sauces created with asiago, cheddar, manchego, gouda, or parmesan.

Then top it off with add-ins like fresh lobster, braised short rib, truffle oil, caramelized onions, broccoli, bacon, avocado, and more.

As if that weren't enough, S.O.B. is also the home of Boston's first (we think) “dunkable clam doughnuts.” The dough is filled with clams, onions, and fresh herbs, then deep fried. Don't forget to order a bowl of clam chowder for dunking.

Not in the mood for savory seafood doughnuts? How about a deep-fried Boston cream doughnut topped with ice cream and hot fudge?

The restaurant also features a fully-stocked bar, including S.O.B.'s own house rum which you can sample in a variety of signature cocktails such as the “treasonous mojito," tropical rum punch, and the "tall n shady" - a twist on the classic "dark and stormy."

Visit Sons of Boston seven days a week from 5 PM to 2 AM.
