Boston Sports fans have reason to be happy

Sunday, bloody Sunday.

Sunday was not a fun day for New England Patriots fans as the Pats fell to the Denver Broncos, 20-18. Do not harp on a frustrating a game that they had several opportunities to win because there is so much to be happy about for Boston sports fans.

What jumps out first is that both the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics won last night. That is definitely a plus for those who follow baseball and hockey. And for those who do not follow the winter sports, Spring Training is right around the corner. Pitchers and catchers are reporting to camp in less than four weeks.

For those Peyton Manning haters out there consider this: Manning and the Broncos have to play the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50. And by now, everyone should know there is absolutely no reason to bet against the Panthers.

Have doubts and think Manning stands a chance against the Panthers? Watch this and then reevaluate the situation.

Not to go too deep into the Super Bowl, but the Panthers are 4.5 point favorites on Odds Shark. And the vast majority of people betting are taking those odds. So what does that mean? For what it is worth, the general public believes the Panthers are going to win — which means Peyton Manning will not. For the Boston sports fans who dislike Manning, that is something.

Going back to winter sports, the Bruins are in third place in the Atlantic Division while the Celtics are in fifth place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. On top of that, the Bruins are just two games out of first place.

The way those two teams are playing right now, they really both do look like playoff contenders — especially if they can add a piece or two once their respective trade deadlines roll around.

As previously mentioned, the Red Sox are kicking off Spring Training this month and with the addition of David Price, their starting rotation looks to be much improved from last year’s. It is designated hitter David Ortiz’ final season with the team, and there is no better way for him to possibly finish it than with a ring.

According to Vegas Insider, the Red Sox are early favorites to win the American League pennant.
