When I’m feeling down, a few cocktails or an indulgent milkshake always cheer me up. And when I’m ready to celebrate, yup, same thing – cocktails or ice cream! That’s what makes the boozy milkshake such an ingenious creation. You no longer have to choose between adult beverages and childhood comfort food!

Here are 8 Boston-area burger shops that offer some incredibly creative and tasty spiked milkshake options. Enjoy!

Grass Fed

Located in Jamaica Plains, this burger shop serves “adult shakes” to compliment their artisan burgers. Options include salted caramel (vanilla ice cream with caramel vodka, tequila, sea salt, and whipped cream), bananas foster (vanilla ice cream with banana, dark rum, and whipped cream), and the “Nutty Cup” (chocolate ice cream with peanut butter and amaretto).

Met Bar & Grill (Natick and Dedham)

The Met Bar & Grill may only offer two milkshake options, but what they lack in quantity they make up for in quality. And of course, these elaborate concoctions can be spiked with booze upon request. The Brownie sundae shake is made with chocolate ice cream, fudge brownie, fudge whipped cream, and chocolate cookie, while the banana caramel shake is made with sea salt caramel ice cream, bruleed banana chips, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and a mini cupcake.
