Named after a well-known baseball player who also contributed to the growth of golf in Boston, this course has been around since 1938. Designed by the famous golf course designer Donald Ross, this 18-hole golf course suffered a lot in its initial years. In 2004 the City of Boston took over the operational control of this facility. Since then Golf Wright has gradually improved and gained popularity. It was chosen as the best municipal Golf course by Golf Digest and the 14th best municipal golf course in the nation by Golfweek in 2009.

William J. Devine Golf Course:

Location: Franklin Park, Massachusetts

Area: 5961 yards

Opening times: Seven days a week, All year round

Established in 1896, this golf course is the second oldest golf course in America. Re-designed by Donald Ross this facility was rated as the best places to play by Golf Digest in 2007, 2008 and 2009. Known for providing a pleasant inner city golf experience, William J. Devine was the very place where famous American Golfers Willie Campbell and Bobby Jones honed their skills. The first American female golf professional, Georgian Campbell used to teach woman here.
