It's only February, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a Beach Party! ...Wait, what?
The creative folks from outdoor brand REI are embracing the weather and holding their winter "beach" festivities at the Rink at 401 Park on February 19. The celebration is in honor of REI's Co-op Members.
In addition to ice skating, the Beach Party with REI will feature snow yoga, a snow sculpture contest, and live music to get your ice-dance groove on.
The main events take place between 12 and 4 PM, but REI Co-op members can also enjoy free skating from 12 to 8 PM.
The event will also offer summer camping activities throughout the day such as limbo, a "build your own sunglasses" station, a s'mores bar, and a family-friendly camp lounge courtesy of REI.
Sand artists can also try their hand at the winter version of a sand castle contest - a snow sculpture contest.
