Confections seem to come and go with trends like macaroons, cupcakes and cake pops having already run their course. However, there is one pastry that never seems to go out of style - the delicious, decadent donut!
If you are tired of the same old frosted and jelly-filled varieties at Dunkin's, consider a road trip to Providence to sample the wildly popular "designer" options at PVDonuts.
A post shared by PVDonuts (@pvdonuts) on Each brioche yeasted donut is individually made by hand using a vintage 1980's dough mixer.
The locally-sourced and super-fresh ingredients are combined, rolled out, and hand-cut to become a one-of-a-kind edible work of art!
Flavors range from old-fashioned, cake, cruller, and vegan donuts to the uniquely light and delicious brioche creations, made from yeasted dough left to raise for 24 hours.
The menu at PVDonuts changes monthly with some favorites returning or earning permanent status.
Choose from flavors like Coffee Milk • Maple Bacon • Strawberry Pop Tart • Moose Tracks • Cereal Milk • Purple Cow • Chocolate m&m • Bavarian Cream • Strawberry Rhubarb • Neapolitan • Apple Fritter • Butterscotch Crunch • Bananas Foster • Key Lime Pie • Brownie Batter • Pancakes & Syrup and Honey + Cruller.
The hand-dipped glazed donuts find themselves sprinkled with toppings such as shaved coconut, Fruity Pebbles cereal, candy, cookie bits, trail mix and even potato chips!

Filled varieties are stuffed with homemade jams, creams and mousses.
For less adventurous souls, PVD offers classically elevated versions of vanilla and chocolate Old Fashioned donuts.
If you can't decide which one to try - why not purchase a box of a dozen random samplings from the current menu or place a special order?
PVDonuts is open Wednesday - Sunday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m, but prepare to wait in line alongside other hungry weekenders!
