Newburyport Spot Has 2017's Best Brunch On The North Shore

It's a bit sad to think about sun, surf and rum-infused cocktails as a potential "bomb cyclone" of snow threatens to pummel our state - but it doesn't hurt to dream about warmer days, right?

Besides, the beach-inspired bar/restaurant, The Paddle Inn in Newburyport clearly has a healthy sense of irony, having opened its doors for the first time in December of 2016.

The breezy menu and tropical cocktails may be reminiscent of summer, but The Paddle Inn is much more than just another boozy beach bar. Their swoon-worthy comfort foods are good enough to have nabbed them Boston Magazine's pick for the North Shore's Best Brunch of 2017!

Those wanting to indulge their sweet tooth can choose from the Baked French Toast topped with strawberry whipped cream and a graham cracker crumble or take their chances on the chef's doughnut hole flavor of the week.

And, of course, there are the egg sandwiches such as the Cancun burger with spicy tomatillo slaw, cheddar cheese, paddleritos, and fried egg.

As if all that weren't enough, there is a brunch cocktail menu serving delightful concoctions such as the Don’t Worry, It’s Sunday made with Stoli Vanilla vodka, almond sweetened coconut cream, Borghetti, andTandem Coffee. Or go for a Gloucester Breakfast with butter-infused Old Monk rum and real maple syrup.
