Newburyport Spot Has 2017's Best Brunch On The North Shore
It's a bit sad to think about sun, surf and rum-infused cocktails as a potential "bomb cyclone" of snow threatens to pummel our state - but it doesn't hurt to dream about warmer days, right?
Besides, the beach-inspired bar/restaurant, The Paddle Inn in Newburyport clearly has a healthy sense of irony, having opened its doors for the first time in December of 2016.
The breezy menu and tropical cocktails may be reminiscent of summer, but The Paddle Inn is much more than just another boozy beach bar. Their swoon-worthy comfort foods are good enough to have nabbed them Boston Magazine's pick for the North Shore's Best Brunch of 2017!
One glance at their Instagram page and you'll know why.The humble spot - owned and operated by the team behind Trina’s Starlite Lounge - is known for its hangover-curing Bloody Marys topped with thick, salty bacon; homemade doughnut holes; and massive egg sandwiches you may have to unhinge your jaw to enjoy.
Available only on Sundays from 10 to 2, brunch at The Paddle Inn offers something for any taste. The traditional breakfast folks will delight in the impeccably done Classic Plate featuring two eggs any style, choice of bacon/sausage/fruit, pan fries, and a biscuit.
Health freaks can calm their cravings without crushing their diet by ordering the Whole Grain Bowl with freekeh wheat, red quinoa, kale, heirloom tomato, cucumber, watermelon radish, pine nuts, and creamy mojo sauce. Guests can also add egg or tofu for an additional charge.
