Barbara Lynch's Drink is a "bar that throws a cocktail party every night." Unlike other watering holes, there are no printed menus or shelves of backlit liquor bottles to choose from. Instead, Boston's best mixologists question guests on their likes and dislikes, then create a custom cocktail just for them!
Those who already have a favorite drink can still order an Old Fashioned or a rum & coke, but that takes a bit of the fun out of it doesn't it?
According to the Drink website, it is a "bar entirely dedicated to the craft of the cocktail. Drink blends time-honored techniques and the classic cocktails of the prohibition era with modern innovation and the very best artisanal ingredients."
Drink also offers a healthy selection of white, red, and sparkling wines, and a selection of various styles of craft beer.
You may not expect a bar so dedicated to the art of mixology to have much of a food menu, but at Drink, cooking is just another art form.
Order up some smoked trout dip with kettle chips, fries with malt vinegar Aioli, fish tacos, or healthy buffalo cauliflower "wings."
And according to Zagat.com, Drink happens to serve one of the best burgers in Boston: a Wagyu beef patty with American cheese and black pepper mayo that is made in quantities of just 15 per night and secretly offered only on request.
Drink is open for business with thorough safety policies in place. Seating is limited to parties of six guests who must wear masks any time they are away from their table. Patrons are to maintain 6-feet of social distancing space from others outside their party and must adhere to a max capacity order.
Additionally, all staff must wear masks and gloves at all times.
If you are not yet ready to venture into a bar setting, you can still order food and cocktails to-go.
