CBS Sports is throwing some shade at the Boston Bruins and I will not stand for it.
I think we've documented the Bruins slide here pretty much to a T these past few weeks. There's been a lot of struggles and frankly, it's unfortunate that they're not out there winning every game like we'd want them to. I know that's never happened for any team in any sport ever, but it's like we know the Bruins are better than what they've done in the month of December. Or, at least, we think we know that...
So that's where the CBS Sports power rankings come in. Now, I can't complain too much about them because it could be a lot worse, but the Bruins are not where I want them to be in it, so that means there is a problem with the rankings.
They put the Bruins fifth and then they compared them to the Christmas movie "Bad Santa". I don't really get it, but here is what they had to say.
"Generally viewed as dirty and disliked, but they command respect among the greats."
I don't know what that even means. Not a fan of the movie "Bad Santa" either. It just seems to lack a lot of strong punchlines. It's like how Super Troopers is kind of a lame film but a lot of people like it. If that's what people like, I'm not gonna stop them.
At the bottom of the list, it's also worth noting they had the New Jersey Devils and compared them to "Home Alone 2". Now that I don't get. Sure, the original is the better movie of the two, I suppose, but let's not use a decent film to throw shade at the worst team in the NHL. Whatever. I don't get it. I'm out...
