Cajun Seafood Is A West Coast Favorite & You Can Try It In Allston
Share
Everyone knows the east coast has the country's best seafood. From Maine all the way to Florida's southern tip, each coastal state has its own delicacies.
New England is arguably the best place to go for shellfish, but the west coast is known for their spicy twist on the traditional seafood boil - and you can try it right here in Massachusetts at Holly Crab!
The Cajun menu items are popular in California, but have their roots in Louisiana, where a spicy Lowcountry Boil of crawfish, shrimp, potatoes and corn is a dietary staple.
Visit Holly Crab in Allston's Packard's Corner for a unique dining experience you won't soon forget.
Here's how it works:
First you choose your seafood from the following options: Lobster, Snow Crab, Dungeness Crab, King Crab, Crawfish, Shrimp or Clams/Green Mussels.
Those who want to mix things up may choose a combo of seafood instead.
Next, you'll decide on your flavor. The Holly Crab option is the restaurant's own signature blend of Cajun and Vietnamese spices. You can also try the Garlic Butter or Lemon Pepper for a lighter flavor profile.
Finally, you'll choose your spice level - anywhere from Very Mild all the way to Holly X!
While combo meals are served with whole potatoes and corn on the cob, these items as well as broccoli, Andoulle sausage, and noodles are considered add-ons.
Once your meal is ready, you'll strap on a pair of plastic gloves and tear into your personalized meal hands first! Be sure to bring your appetite, the meals at Holly Crab are BIG!
The restaurant is also known for their scratch-made soups including New England Clam Chowder and Shrimp-Sausage Gumbo.
And of course, you'll want to wash your meal down with an ice cold beer. Holly Crab has several domestic, imported, and local options.
